St Roch Project Timeline August 2005 Hurricane Katrina  Fall 2005 Project initiated December 2006 Fund established at the Greater New Orleans Foundation March 2007 Declaration by Dr. Blakely and the Office of Recovery Management that St. Roch is one of 17 zones in New Orleans targeted for redevelopment. Summer 2007 Spraying and termite protection of oak trees along neutral ground. Deconstruction of existing buildings at 1700, 1706 St. Roch Ave. November 2007 CELEBRATE ST. ROCH! event on the neutral ground. Through the efforts of the Faubourg St. Roch Project, the City of New Orleans' Office of Recovery Management commits $400,000 to a St. Roch Avenue neutral ground walking path that will be the foundation for that Mosaic art path. In 2008 the project Held an Artwalk competition for the St Roch Avenue Neutral Ground and selected artist JEFRË for the design and installation of the Artwalk. |
